Baby Birds Need Help!
Imagine being born naked, blind and unable to feed or care for yourself. Baby birds are some of the most vulnerable animals out there. Songbirds are on decline with many species being listed as endangered or threatened. Studies are only conducted on select few species and many of them are unaccounted for in research.
When they get injured, cold, or emaciated from losing a parent there is only one place they can go in the Charlotte area for help. We need your help to continue to be able to rehabilitate these babies during the three months of summer every year.
Each year we take in more songbirds than we did before. The monthly cost of mealworms for this program alone is $10,000. Baby birds need to eat every 15 to 30 minutes 12 to 14 hours a day. So we have to hire extra staff and buy an incredible amount of mealworms and other food items. In addition, we hope to have some money to set aside to build more state-of-the-art aviaries, like the 3 we currently use.
We don't want these vulnerable birds to be left out in the cold and need your support to help them get the care they need. Thank you.
